Microsoft EDU: Hacking STEM

Hacking STEM is a Microsoft EDU team that aims to democratize STEM education by creating affordable lesson materials for classrooms around the world. On this team, I designed a number of creative products under the Microsoft and Microsoft Hacking STEM brands, including classroom materials, social media posts, print materials, and product packaging.
How fast do humans run?
I created a set of illustrations that were used in educational materials for a Hacking STEM lesson plan about teaching data analysis by comparing how fast various animals run. These were used across a number of project materials, including an infographic, social media posts, and in a custom Excel interface produced for the project.
Capsule
I designed a template for a 3D paper craft spacecraft capsule as part of a set of educational materials created in partnership with NASA. This template helps students to create their own re-entry simulation by attaching temperature sensors to their capsule and collecting data using an Excel interface, simulating the heat of re-entry with a hair dryer.
I went through several revisions and rounds of testing to ensure that the capsule could be put together easily by middle schoolers, reducing the number of parts and difficulty of cuts and complex folds from earlier prototypes which more closely resembled real space capsules.
Social Media
I created posts and illustrations for team social media and events, operating within the Microsoft and Microsoft Hacking STEM brands.

I created a set of button designs intended for Microsoft's 2018 Hackathon and Professional Development events.
