In my spare time, I like to write and illustrate short stories, in the form of small books or comics. These projects are an opportunity to explore and research topics I’m interested in, as well as experiment with new techniques and illustration styles.
Self Initiated Projects
Dreadful Harbor
Dreadful Harbor is a short story about a detective who follows a series of clues that lead in incomprehensible directions. For the illustrations, I used a grainy black and white style reminiscent of old film photography, to create a mysterious and dreary tone to reflect the time period and twists and turns of the story.

Descent of the Asteroid
Descent of the Asteroid is a short story about a civilization 65 million years ago, facing the threat of annihilation from an approaching asteroid. For the illustrations, I used a two color palette and minimal, open linework, adapting contemporary vector illustration to a traditional comics format.

Solar King
Solar King is a short story exploring political systems from the perspective of a bemused traveling knight. For the illustrations, I used a seven color palette, with each section of the story using 2-3 colors from the palette at a time.

Existence, Objects & their Properties
Existence, Objects, & Their Properties is a short story about the employees of a corporation. For the illustrations, I used a bright three color primary palette, and a style based in simple geometric shapes, to reflect the optimism and naïveté of mid-century corporatism.
